Switchbox Project : Bloom

“Bloom” was my first-ever public artwork, created in 2023 as part of Malden’s Switchbox Project, which brings the work of local artists into the city’s streets with the goal of beautifying the community and celebrating the arts. Inspired by Malden’s flourishing community gardens and the wildflowers and native flowers I adore, “Bloom” captures the color, growth, and beauty I see throughout the city. One of my favorite things to do is walk along the bike loop with my son, taking in the spring colors that line the path. “Bloom” is an ode to those wildflowers, reminding us to embrace where we are and to bloom wherever we are planted.
